Sustainability Strategy
Sustainability is one of the pillars of Qemetica Group's 2024-2029 Strategy.
In pursuing our business goals, we consider both our impact on the environment and on people.
Acting responsibly
Care for Planet
We use natural resources in our operations.
With future generations in mind, we have committed to defining new methods of sustainable chemical production. In this effort, the Qemetica Group intends to obtain 10 patents for innovations supporting this goal between 2024 and 2026.
Net-zero inw 2040
We contribute to the global effort on climate change mitigation. We were one of the first major companies in theregion to join the Science Based Targets initiative, which confirmed that our 63% emissions reduction target by 2033 is in line with the Paris Agreement. We are leading a major energy transition that will see us completely move away from coal as an energy source as early as 2033. We are aiming for climate neutrality in 2040.
Sustainable products
Our products have a wide range of applications supporting global transformation towards sustainability.
As part of our strategy for 2024-2029, we aim to:
- produce green soda (in line with EU Taxonomy criteria),
- minimize the carbon footprint of salt,
- introduce low-emission silicates,
- manufacture eco-friendly foams from recycled and bio-based polyols,
- promote innovative plant protection agents in line with the EU's "Farm to Fork" strategy,
- efficiently produce glass packaging.
Environmental protection
At Qemetica Group, a we work with respect for the environment. In order to effectively manage water resources and protect aquatic ecosystems, we carry out comprehensive water audits, on the basis of which we will develop a water management strategy for the Qemetica Group by 2026.
We focus on evidence-based measures, so by 2025 we will implement technology for real-time monitoring of data on, among other things, waste.
Our goal is to reduce packaging waste by 20% by 2025 compared to 2019.

Qemetica Group consists of 3,500 employees. We strive to create a safe and friendly work environment for each of them. We also actively engage in the lives of the communities living near our facilities.
Safety First
We are committed to ensuring the complete safety of our employees - our ambition is zero accidents. The target for 2029 is an LTIF(lost time injury frequency) of 1.5.
Our 2024-2029 Strategy focuses on increasing attention to near misses - the target for 2029 is a 10-fold increase in recorded near misses compared to the 42 recorded in 2023.

Qemetica is built by people Their commitment and development is the foundation of our success. We place great emphasis on building a human- centric corporate culture. We regularly measure the employee engagement level and one of Qemetica's leaders' objectives is the increasing satisfaction of our teams.
With a focus on developing our employees, we run a Grow up_Go beyond programme for high-potential individuals.
It is our aim to provide a friendly and diverse working environment. With the chemPeople programme w implement initiatives focused on diversity & inclusion and generational dialogue.
Good Neighbour
Qemetica significantly impacts on the lives of local communities in the neighbours of our plants. As part of the implementation of the 2024-2029 Strategy, we will implement the Good Neighbour programme in all locations where we operate production facilities. The aim of the programme is to actively support local sporting, cultural, educational, social and environmental initiatives through sponsorship, education, grant programmes, and charitable support.
The 2024-2029 Strategy also focuses on actively initiating contacts with stakeholders. We aim to hold community dialogue meetings at each of our production locations at least once a year.

Effective governance provides the framework for agile decision-making, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, ultimately driving long-term value creation and building trust.
Partners in a sustainable transition
In the 2024-2029 Strategy, we go beyond the boundaries of our organisation. In defining our objectives, we have begun from the needs and expectations of our customers. We are also looking at our suppliers - from 2021 we are evaluating them in terms of ESG. By 2025 we will implement a Sustainable Procurement Policy.
We believe in the power of collaboration for true success. Our performance is transparent, with continuous improvement evident in our ratings with EcoVadis and CDP. We are proud members of the UN Global Compact and by 2026 we aim to join the Responsible Care and Together for Sustainability alliances.
Embracing diversity
We are committed to promoting diversity and equality. We have achieved gender pay balance, defined as a pay gap of less than 5%. We nurture diversity in our teams and our target for 2029 is at least 35% women among middle and senior managers.
Moving forward, we aim to deepen our analysis to ensure equal treatment of all our employees and plan to obtain Equal Salary certification by 2026.
Ethical and sensible growth
We care about doing the right thing, therefore in the 2024-2029 Strategy we have set ourselves objectives to ensure that we act ethically at every level of the organisation:
- sustainability training for sales and communications professionals to prevent greenwashing,
- joining the Responsible Care and Together for Sustainability initiatives,
- Human Rights Impact Assessment in the Qemetica Group value chain.
Our growth is underpinned by the sound risk management, which we will further develop in 2024-2029 to include value chain ESG risk assessment and climate change scenario analysis.
