The new warehouse on the premises of the production plant in Żary brings about cost savings and streamlines the logistics processes for delivering sodium silicates to customers in other countries. Qemetica Vitrosilicon exports them to Europe and North America. The modern warehouse space positively impacts the storage of the finished product and maintains its quality.
Qemetica Vitrosilicon, in addition to the new warehouse, has also modernized the railcar lines used for transporting sodium silicates. This investment has improved the loading process and supports maintaining high product quality while protecting it from contamination and other negative external factors. Importantly, during the construction of the warehouse, the access roads and maneuvering areas were also upgraded, benefiting the company's operations and its business partners.
The investment in the new warehouse at the Żary production plant also contributes to reducing the level of noise and dust emissions associated with the factory's operations. As the logistics work is moved to the newly constructed facility, the building itself acts as a sound barrier and isolates the loading area from its immediate vicinity. In the near future, Qemetica Vitrosilicon plans to build a hall to enclose the loading line and fill the railcars, further enhancing the logistics process and even more effectively reducing noise and dust emissions.
"Thanks to the new investment, the warehouse area at our production plant increases by 100 percent. We take even better care of preserving the highest quality and properties of our product. At the same time, we are reducing dust and noise levels. Business benefits are important, but equally crucial for us is to be a good neighbor and have a positive impact on the environment," said Robert Janeczko, President of the Management Board of Qemetica Vitrosilicon.
The modernizations and investments in the Żary plant are a continuation of the company's dynamic growth, following the increase of its production capacity by 30 percent with the introduction of a new furnace for melting sodium silicates in 2021. The value of that investment was PLN 80 million, further solidifying CIECH's position as the largest supplier of sodium silicates in Europe.
Qemetica Vitrosilicon is the largest supplier of sodium silicates in Europe. They are essential in the production process of precipitated silica, a crucial component in items such as tires and cosmetics. Additionally, sodium silicates are used in the production of detergents, paper, and zeolites. The company also manufactures potassium silicates, which are utilized in the production of welding electrodes and construction chemicals. Qemetica Vitrosilicon operates two production plants in Żary and Iłowa. As an important local employer, the company employs over 100 people in these facilities. Besides Europe, the company also exports sodium silicates to Asia and North America.
