Partnership for stable and responsible development
The Mayor of Inowrocław, Arkadiusz Fajok, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the region’s largest investors, noting that these relationships are based on partnership and shared responsibility for the environment in which the companies operate.
“I am pleased that we host in Inowrocław the CEOs of two powerful, international companies: QEMETICA and PreZero. One has been operating in Inowrocław for many years, while the other is just beginning. The companies are joining forces and jointly taking on the challenge of the energy transition of the soda plants,” the Mayor said.
Fajok also emphasized that the city expects investors to take a broad view of the community’s needs:
“Responsible business is one that understands it operates within a specific community and is ready to support that community. This is exactly the kind of support we have been discussing with our partners over the past months,” he added.
Soda industry as the foundation of the local economy and a new Foundation for Kujawy
Kamil Majczak, CEO of QEMETICA, highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in the region and the key role of the soda industry in the history and economy of Inowrocław:
“The soda industry in Kujawy has a history spanning for more than 150 years. We are co-creating this history as QEMETICA, mindful that it is also the story of generations of people who had lived and worked here. We feel part of this city and co-responsible for its future,” Majczak said.
He also referred to recent discussions on the energy transition of the plants:
“The past two years have shown us how important dialogue is. Together with the city, we have been able to build an agreement based on trust.”
The company has established a new entity — the QEMETICA Foundation for Kujawy, which will consolidate the company’s social and educational activities as well as infrastructure projects. Piotr Kapuściński, President of the QEMETICA Foundation for Kujawy and a member of the Supervisory Board of Qemetica Soda Polska, emphasized that the Foundation will operate transparently and broadly support regional initiatives:
“The QEMETICA Foundation for Kujawy allows us to organize our social engagement within a single entity that will undertake a wide range of initiatives. We want to support sport, education and local infrastructure — primarily here in Inowrocław, as well as in Janikowo, where we continue to produce salt,” Kapuściński said.
New social investments by QEMETICA
The announced initiatives include:

-
Continued title sponsorship of the first-league basketball club KSK Qemetica Noteć Inowrocław.
-
Construction of a sports field and recreational area at the primary school in Mątwy — construction to begin in summer 2026.

Comprehensive renovation of the animal shelter, valued at nearly PLN 0.5 million.
Fund for Kujawy — expanding the scale of support
Tomasz Molenda, President of QEMETICA Soda Polska, announced the transformation of the existing Social Initiatives Support Fund into the Fund for Kujawy. It will also be managed by the newly established QEMETICA Foundation for Kujawy.
“The Fund for Kujawy will be one of the largest initiatives of this kind in the region. We are increasing the budget by an additional PLN 200,000, and the call for applications will start as early as mid-January 2026,” Molenda emphasized.
As a result, the funding pool for 2026 has increased to PLN 1.2 million. This is possible thanks to the involvement of PreZero as both a financial and substantive partner. In total, the funds allocated primarily to initiatives in Inowrocław will amount to several million PLN.
PreZero: a new partner for local initiatives in Inowrocław
PreZero’s CEO, Kamil Majerczak, spoke with appreciation about the city’s existing cooperation with QEMETICA. He expressed his satisfaction with joining the project and the program:
“Your initiatives show how much good can already be done today for the local community. That is why I am pleased that, as PreZero, we can join the Fund for Kujawy,” he said.
Majerczak also noted that in all cities where PreZero conducts operational activities, the company builds relationships based on partnership:
“Every municipality in which we operate is an important partner for us. In Inowrocław, we will support projects that strengthen environmental education, the local community, and the quality of life of residents. These goals are fully aligned with our values,” he emphasized.
The City: partnership-based relations and shared responsibility
In closing the conference, Mayor Arkadiusz Fajok emphasized that the partnership between the city and investors is taking on a new dimension:
“Many great initiatives lie ahead of us. Thanks to the support of QEMETICA and PreZero, we can make tangible changes to our city — from sport and education to care for animals. As the City, we will actively participate in the Foundation’s work and help identify priority areas,” Fajok said.
