The annual Qemetica Fest picnic, which this year was held under the theme "Qemetica Superpowers", lasted from 2:00 PM. Employees from Qemetica Soda Polska in Inowrocław and Janikowo, Qemetica Pianki production plant, and Qemetica Cargo, came together to enjoy good music and delicious grilled food. As part of the ZdrowiejMy program, which supports the everyday health of Qemetica employees, various health services were provided free of charge. Attendees had the opportunity to undergo EKG tests, spirometry, skin examinations for melanoma prevention, and eye examinations. The health zone was organized in collaboration with the Multispecialty Hospital in Inowrocław.
In addition to a large play zone with inflatables and numerous other attractions, the youngest attendees were also treated to an educational game called "Fest World," based on the core values of the Qemetica Group. Out of the 172 children who participated in the competitions, which involved completing various tasks, collecting stamps, and coming up with the best "Superhero Slogan," the grand prize of an electric scooter was awarded to Franek Ogonek.
The EKO QUIZ was highly popular at the Qemetica Fest, attracting an impressive participation of 29 teams! Participants tackled challenging questions about environmental protection and ecology, competing for the grand prize of three electric scooters, funded by the picnic's partner – EEW, an investor of the Thermal Waste Processing Installation to be built in Inowrocław. Qemetica Soda Polska will become the recipient of the energy generated there, reducing coal consumption in the energy production process and taking care of the natural environment. A similar solution is already applied at Qemetica Soda Deutschland's production plant in Germany, where heat from the thermal waste conversion facility is supplied to the production plant. This method satisfies approximately 30% of the energy needed for production. EEW is a European leader in designing, constructing, and operating facilities that convert waste into energy. They have already established 17 similar plants in Germany and neighboring countries.
"I am deeply impressed by the knowledge and competence of our employees and their relatives. Their active participation in the EKO QUIZ demonstrates that our community has a growing and improved ecological awareness. It is through solid knowledge that we can verify information and trust the proven ones. Congratulations to all the winners," said Tomasz Molenda, the President of the Management Board of Qemetica Soda Polska.
Every Qemetica Fest traditionally includes charity activities related to sports activity. In this year's edition, kind-hearted employees, collectively climbing a total of 2,877 meters on a climbing wall and cycling a combined distance of 247 kilometers on stationary bikes, raised PLN 15,620 for the Child and Family Support Center in Inowrocław.
Saturday at the OSiR stadium also featured football matches. Several teams from Qemetica Soda Polska, Qemetica Pianki, and Qemetica Cargo competed on the field. All teams received commemorative medals, and the winning ones – material prizes.
The local Qemetica picnic was also attended by friends of Qemetica Soda Polska – basketball players from the KSK Qemetica Noteć Inowrocław team, which the Qemetica Group has been supporting for years as the title sponsor. The stand where participants could win a T-shirt with players' autographs for a series of accurate throws to the basket was especially popular.
The picnic in Inowrocław ended at 9:00 PM.
The next initiatives from the Qemetica Fest series for employees of local Qemetica companies will also take place in the near future in Iłowa, Lubuskie province, where the production plants of Qemetica Vitro (manufacturing glass packaging) and Qemetica Vitrosilicon (manufacturing silicates) plants are located, as well as in Nowa Sarzyna, Podkarpacie province – the center of the Agro Business Unit.
