Qemetica Vitrosilicon, a company belonging to an international chemical group, is the largest supplier of sodium silicates in Europe – a product that is necessary for the production of precipitated silica, which is a crucial component in products such as tires and cosmetics. In addition, sodium silicates are used in the production of detergents and paper. The company also manufactures potassium silicates, which are utilized in the production of welding electrodes and construction chemicals.
"This is a great honor for us, but also a challenge. We feel socially and ecologically responsible. We aim to maintain our leading position in the region while creating additional job opportunities," emphasized Robert Janeczko, the President of the Management Board of Qemetica Vitrosilicon.
Qemetica Vitrosilicon is not only an important and stable local employer – the company, recognizing the importance of sustainable development, continuously engages in efforts to further reduce energy consumption and emissions from its production processes. After launching a modern and energy-efficient furnace for melting sodium silicate glass in 2021 and increasing production capacity, the company has completed the construction of a new warehouse.
In June of this year, the modern facility was put into operation at the company's premises in Żary. This investment, worth PLN 4 million, enhances its logistical capabilities. In addition to doubling the warehouse space, the company can take even better care of maintaining the highest quality and properties of its manufactured products while reducing dust and noise levels in the vicinity.
In line with the Qemetica Group’s ESG strategy, Qemetica Vitrosilicon actively engages in initiatives to support local communities and the surroundings of its production plants.
Qemetica Vitrosilicon employs over 100 people across its two production plants – in Iłowa and Żary. Outside Europe, the company also exports silicates to Asia and North America.
